ARL Architectural and Terrain Visualization

ARL has a long history of architectural and terrain visualization. We have digital terrain modeling expertise in both photogrammetry and lidar. ARL creates custom applications, excelling in real-time animation systems design, development, production and data management. We work closely with our satellite imagery, digital elevation map, data and architectural plan suppliers to provide accurate graphics with a quick turnaround. Our work includes photorealistic animations used in the public consultation and consent process - projects like the Brisbane Vision apartment complex, State Highway 20 in Auckland, Dunedin Stadium and various hydro and wind power generation projects.

In 2003 ARL built an interactive 3D data visualization Tool for the Project Aqua Resources Consent Planning process - allowing the client to view comprehensive layers of GIS data in 3D and in real-time. We built the Auckland CBD, Gulf and North Shore for real-time flyovers during coverage of the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series in 2009. The Auckland model has since been used to demonstrate proposed harbor developments. ARL also developed and built the 'Total Control' Air Traffic Control Simulator for Airways New Zealand, complete with multiple towers, aircraft, cloud types, weather, and 'full world' airspace allowing simultaneous use across multiple suites.

ARL built a complete 360 degree panorama model of Brisbane, Australia - the view from a floor of a proposed high-rise apartment complex. The model has since been used for flyovers during Virtual Eye's coverage of the 2010-11 Ashes series in Brisbane. ARL's sports division Virtual Eye deal almost exclusively with real-time graphics on real-world terrain, having created 20 Formula One tracks in different cities around the World, over 50 photo-realistic golf courses (including ALL the European Tour courses) for Golf coverage, 33 Stadiums around the world for Cricket coverage and 33 Cities and Ports for the Americas Cup, Louis Vuitton Trophy, Audi MedCup and the Monsoon Cup yachting regattas.
