May 03: ARL CEO Ian Taylor is awarded Maori Business Leader of the Year at the BNZ Aotearoa New Zealand Maori Business Leaders Awards in Auckland, but has some issues getting the award back home to Dunedin - May 02: ARL coding stalwart Paul Sharp (also a rescue volunteer for Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter) is awarded 'Rescue of the month' by Surf Life Saving New Zealand, for his part in the rescue of 30 Columba College pupils on March 1, 2013.

ARL was asked to visualize plans for a 28 storey hotel on the Dunedin waterfront in 3D, on behalf of development company Betterways Advisory Ltd. A team of international architects, including New Zealand firm Moller Architects, had been briefed to design a tall, elegant building with high-quality aesthetics. The slideshow above shows frames from the resulting animation, which played to a business audience at the Forsyth Barr Stadium on Friday, May 11.
